Discovering Peschiera Del Garda
Pretty Peschiera lies on the sunny southern shore of Lake Garda, where the Mincio River flows in to the lake. The historic centre has medieval walls and vibrant, bustling streets, and there are two lake shore beaches, a small harbour, plus picturesque walking trails and cycle paths into the Mincio National Park. Peschiera offers an enticing choice of things to do, both as a family or on your own whilst the children have fun with our child care team. For sheer excitement and some wonderful rides for all ages, visit the nearby Caneva Aqua-World Park or Gardaland Theme Park & Sealife – both a surefire hit with the children! The pretty Mincio riverside path is a great place for a gentle walk or cycle ride together, and the Italian ice-creams in the resort centre are a real treat to look forward to afterwards. Further afield, a trip to the romantic city of Verona with its dramatic Roman Arena and famous ‘Romeo & Juliet’ balcony can be booked locally as a day-trip with your Esprit Representative, or pre-booked for you by our Reservations team if you prefer. Alternatively, take a picturesque ferry boat on Lake Garda and visit Lazise, which is a hidden jewel amongst the lake shore villages, with its largely traffic-free medieval centre and sandy beach.
Gardaland and Sealife
The neighbouring Gardaland amusement park and Sealife aquarium are just a 10 minute car ride or bus ride from Peschiera centre. There are 32 rides at Gardaland, catering for all ages, including 6 roller-coasters for adventurous families. Sealife is great for younger children, who will be amazed by the underwater action on show, especially in the shark tunnel! Prices approx £28 per person
A taste of Italy
No visit to Italy is complete without enjoying a taste of café culture and of course a delicious Italian ice-cream or “gelato”. Italians have done something magical with their ice-cream, renowned for its wonderfully rich, intense flavours. Any visit to the ice-cream shop or ‘gelateria’ is a colourful affair, with a multitude of flavours to sample.
Boat outings on Lake Garda
Peschiera benefits from excellent links by boat, ferry or train to many other resorts on Lake Garda so it’s easy to plan a family outing using the FREE hotel shuttle bus to get to Peschiera centre. Families can enjoy the water sports available from Bardolino’s beach area or stroll round its colourful harbour and main square, or visit charming Malcesine (pictured above). Sirmione is also a popular choice with its dramatic castle offering wonderful views of the lake whilst children will be fascinated by the Roman ruins. Single trip ferry tickets start at £4 adult and £2.80 children.

Located just 20km from Peschiera del Garda, Desenzano del Garda is the biggest town on Lake Garda and is regarded by many locals as the unofficial capital of the lake.
